Do you often find yourself daydreaming about a calm walk by the beach? Wouldn’t it be so relaxing to just sink your feet into the soft, wet sand as you wait for the wave to wash away your stress? Irrespective of the numerous studies on stress busters, a walk by the beach is still my favourite way to unwind.
It was a usual stressful day and I was pondering on what to write. better than beaches in The Philippines and why they stand out as the most serene beaches in my mind. The Philippines is not a destination that immediately comes to one’s mind ( Well for South East Asians it is 😉 ) when they plan a vacation, but the beautiful beaches of that place stand unparalleled when it comes to peace. Some of the top golden wonders of The Philippines are discussed below.
Samal Island, Davao City
The Garden City of Samal is the other popular name for Samal Island. It is at a distance of 2 km from Davao City. You can easily reach to this beauty with a simple ferry ride. Once you are there, you can revel in the beauty of the white and pink sand beaches. It is simply mesmerizing to walk across the pink sand as if it was straight out of a fairy tale. That reminds me, what about a romantic proposal to the love of your life with the backdrop of a picturesque sunset? I am sure it will be the most stunning moment of your life.
Coron Island, Palawan
Next up on the list is the Coron Island, Palawan. Have you always wanted to discover a secret lagoon with jaw-dropping beauty? You will find just that on this island. You can either climb over the cliffs or swim through a sea tunnel to emerge in crystalline blue-green waters surrounded by white sand beaches. Don’t forget to observe the limestone formations all around you. Before you set off to the next island, make sure that you experience scuba diving in this location. It is a guaranteed one-of-a-kind experience.
Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro
If you love exotic marine creatures, then Puerto Galera is your little slice of heaven on Earth. You can go diving at this location and experience a plethora of sea creatures in their natural environment. The explosion of colors and the wild flurry of activity will leave you breathless in the water. Pun intended, I couldn’t help myself! You can also enjoy a little swim in the cool waters of the beach or just relax although you can pass up on the food available there. Sticking to the usual would be my advice.
Palaui Island, Cagayan Valley
The last one on this list is the Palaui Island in Cagayan Valley. An untouched beauty in its little time capsule, Palaui Island has an incredibly diverse flora and fauna. You can also witness the mesmerizing white sand beaches and volcanic rocks in this area. If you are willing to spend more than a day here (who isn’t), you can camp on the beach or select a homestay although camping near the lighthouse is not allowed. Also, there are no luxuries available here. So, be prepared to live the humble way in this paradise.
It is a great way to relax and forget the hustle-bustle of modern life.
These are my favorite beaches in the Philippines, and I hope you’ll enjoy them too. I have only one suggestion, keep all your devices switched off and stowed away. Walking along the beach is quite a relaxing activity, and there shouldn’t be a phone ringing in the middle of this serenity.
